Sew Fine Fashion Redesign Call for Entries!

Below is a very crafty event we came across calling for designers to transform thrift store finds into creative fashions as a benefit for Arcata and Rooney-McKinleyville Children's Centers.  Thrifting and sewing, two of our favorite things combined in one fashion show!  There is a Sew Fine Fashion Redesign Facebook page for the event and entry forms can be obtained by calling the contact number below or you can e-mail us at craftymavericks@gmail.com and we would be happy to e-mail them to you.

Call for entries!!
Crafters, sewers  and designers this is your time to shine!

We invite designing minds from the community to transform local thrift store clothing into renewed pieces!  The donated items then will be modeled at the fashion show, displayed in a local thrift store window and auctioned via silent auction with the proceeds going to support Arcata-Rooney McKinleyville Children’s Centers which is a local non-profit  providing low cost or free childcare to families in Humboldt county.  All ages, male and female are encouraged to participate.
How it works:
Buy a dress or outfit from a local thrift store, get out your sewing machine, redesign, revamp or tweak to transform a low-budget piece using the best of your creative magic to give it new life.  Complete the entry form, include before and after pictures and turn in your outfit to ARMCC by the deadline.  Then see your outfit displayed in a local store window, followed up with a fashion show and auction
event.

Design submission deadline is April 14th, 2011. The runway fashion show will take place on April 23rd, 2011, at Azalea Hall in Mckinleyville.

Arcata & Rooney-McKinleyville Children's Center is a non-profit agency providing low cost quality children's programs to families in Humboldt County since 1977.  CCL license #'s 121371681, 121372476, 121306190.
